Where Gold & Diamonds found
their shared destiny.
Another gave us diamonds.
MK DIAM is where both bloodlines meet."
This is not a brand built in a boardroom. It is the convergence of two remarkable family legacies — one rooted in the fine craft of precious metals, the other in the pioneering art of diamond cutting — brought together across three generations in the diamond capital of the world: Surat.
The Dual Heritage of MK DIAM
Morarbhai Kalidas Jariwala
Founder of MK · Master of Jari · Patron of Diamond IndustryMorarbhai Kalidas Jariwala — our great-grandfather, and the MK behind MK DIAM — built his life around the most refined expression of precious metal craft. His family offices in Mumbai and Surat specialised in Jari, Salma, Sequence and Kasab Zari: the exquisite art of weaving fine gold and silver metallic threads into fabric, a tradition of extraordinary delicacy that demands the same patience and precision as fine jewellery making.
As Surat began its transformation into the world's diamond cutting and polishing capital in the 1960s and 80s, Morarbhai Kalidas was at the centre of it — not as a trader, but as a champion. He hosted, promoted, and celebrated the emerging diamond industry. He believed in what Surat was becoming. He never started a diamond business. But he planted a seed — a passion, a proximity, a belief — that would take three generations to fully bloom.
Manharbhai Babubhai Patel
Master Diamond Cutter · Innovator · Pioneer of Mahidharpura marketOn the maternal side stands an equally formidable legacy. Manharbhai Babubhai Patel was not merely a diamond cutter. He was an innovator of fancy cut diamonds at a time when the craft was still being defined in India. A master of his art, deeply respected across the industry during the golden decades of Surat's rise.
Manharbhai and his brothers were amongst the very first to establish diamond cutting in Mahidharpura — the neighbourhood that would become the pulsing heart of Surat's diamond district, and eventually one of the most important diamond cutting centres on earth. Their hands shaped the industry from its earliest days. That intelligence — the ability to see brilliance inside a rough stone — is the diamond inheritance that flows through MK DIAM today.
"My belief is simple: the gold came from one family. The diamonds from another. MK DIAM is where both inherited truths merged — into jewellery that carries the weight of both."
